Valid / Invalid Status
Checks carrier and numbering data (updated daily) to show whether a US or Canada phone number is Valid — correctly formed and assigned to a carrier (active) — or Invalid — badly formed or not assigned (inactive). The number is never called or texted, and the result does not show whether a phone is connected right now. Removing invalid numbers cuts a big source of wasted outbound effort.
Line Type Detection
Classifies every number as one of: Mobile, Landline, VoIP, Toll-Free, or Unknown. Line type determines:
- TCPA consent requirements (stricter for mobile autodialing and texting)
- Which numbers to text (landlines cannot receive SMS)
- Lead quality review (many teams check VoIP numbers on consumer forms more closely)
- Channel routing (landline to voice queue, mobile to automated workflow)
Current Carrier — Reflects Number Porting (LNP)
Returns the carrier currently holding the number, with its network type and domain. Because carrier data reflects Local Number Portability, a number that moved to a new carrier shows the new one — useful for SMS routing and for diagnosing delivery failures.
DNC Lookup — Federal and State Lists
A separate service for US numbers. Screens each number against the Federal (National) DNC list and the state DNC lists of Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Colorado and Wyoming. Numbers found come back as federal_dnc (a state hit also names its state in state_dnc). Use it to suppress DNC numbers before any dialing — a compliance-assistance tool, not legal advice or a guarantee.
TCPA Litigator List
Every DNC Lookup also screens the TCPA Litigator list — known plaintiffs, attorneys and others connected with telemarketing lawsuits. Matching numbers come back as tcpa_litigator. It adds a layer of protection beyond standard DNC screening, at no extra cost.
Geographic Data
Returns city, state, ZIP code, country and time zone for each number. Use the time zone to schedule calls within permitted hours (federal rules: 8 AM–9 PM local time; some states are stricter), and use city/state for regional targeting and segmentation.
REST API — JSON Response
Simple POST endpoint authenticated with an API key and secret, up to 1,000 numbers per request. No OAuth, no sessions. JSON responses, from any language that can send an HTTPS request. GoHighLevel and Zapier connections are also available.
